The Court accepts checks, cash, money orders, certified checks, Visa/Master credit or debit cards. 

Fines and costs are due in full upon sentencing.  Failure to pay fines and costs will result in additional fees imposed. 

• Paying the fine instead of appearing in court, the defendant surrenders all his/her legal rights to which they are entitled.  Payment is a guilty plea to the offenses(s) charged.  Penalty points will be assessed against one’s driving record by the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV).  If the defendant does not wish to plead guilty, they should not pay the fine and appear at the scheduled court date.

PAYMENT BY PHONE:

• The Court will accept payment by phone after a signed guilty plea or disposition of your case has been completed.
• Payments may be made by credit card at (719) 382-5561, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), 9:00am to 4:00pm.   

PAYMENT BY DROP BOX:

• Defendants may come to the City of Fountain, City Hall Building at 116 S. Main Street and place a copy of the summons along with a check in a sealed envelope and deposit it into the drop box located at the east entrance of the building.

PAYMENT IN PERSON:

Defendants may choose to pay in person at the Court Office / Violations Bureau window on the second floor of the City Hall building at 116 S. Main Street, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), 9:00am to 4:00pm.

REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL TIME TO PAY FINES AND COSTS:

• If you cannot make full payment, you may request additional time to pay in person at the Court Office/ Violations Bureau.
• An additional fee of $25.00 is applied to your fines and costs and the Court will grant a 30 day extension for payment.
