Thunder in the Valley-Congratulations on your 20th Anniversary

Hello Fountain! It’s hard to believe we are already at the tail end of summer and looking to August! Before we leave July, it did want to take an opportunity this month to talk about a wonderful event that occurs each year here in our community, the Thunder in the Valley. Starting back in 2004 and marking their 20th anniversary, the event features a classic car show, showcasing vintage and custom automobiles that draw enthusiasts from across the region. There are also motorcycle displays, live music performances, and various food vendors offering local delicacies. Additionally, the event includes family-friendly activities such as carnival rides, games, and a parade driving a lap around PPIR, making it an enjoyable experience for attendees of all ages. The show continues to grow, and in 2023 it had over 260 cars. They used to have their car cruise in front of city hall, but the event has grown to the point where the show is now held over at Metcalfe Park.

Thunder in the Valley not only provides entertainment but also serves as a fundraiser for local charities and community projects, enhancing the well-being of the Fountain area. They donate all but start-up funds that they raise at the show back to the community; Donating to the Fountain Fire Department, Fountain Police Department, Fountain Valley Senior Center, the Tim Tibow Night to Shine, the Fountain D8 football team, and the Peyton cheerleaders to name a few of the organizations. They also serve the community at the soup kitchen the first Friday of every other month at the first Methodist Church in Fountain. The Thunder in the Valley event is organized by a dedicated team of volunteers, reflecting the strong community bonds and pride in our local heritage. If you would like to volunteer or participate in any future events, you can contact Thunder in the Valley by visiting their website at ThunderInTheValleyShow.com or their Facebook page. Thank you, Thunder in the Valley, for providing such a quality event for our community for 20 years and we look forward to many more!

Make sure you mark your calendars now for July 2025 and enjoy a stroll in the park seeing some beautiful rides and proud owners!
