Chapter 5.12 - Business Permits in the Municipal Code defines “business” as:
“Business” is meant to include all kinds of vocations, occupations, professions (excluding teachers, clergy, church officers and all persons salaried and working and a person holding one garage sale, exceeding not more than two (2) days in length, once each calendar year), enterprises, establishments, and persons renting houses and all other kinds of activities and matters, including real estate and insurance together with all devices, machines, vehicles, and appurtenances used therein, any of which are conducted for private profit, or benefit, either directly or indirectly, in the City, or anywhere else within its jurisdiction.
Any commercial enterprise or person within the City of Fountain must obtain a Fountain Business License and any other permits or certifications as required for the business, i.e., liquor license, health certificate, etc. Fountain Business Licenses are only valid for the calendar year they were issued for and expire annually on December 31st.
